Now, to reach this utopian vision, we still need to get through a successful Third Epoch. Unfortunately, no-one as yet knows quite how to design or control the Magic Goo of digital and computer technology, at least, not in a way that will bring us safely to our goal. As mentioned before, digital technologies have evolved according to market pressures, modulated occasionally by (well-funded) visionaries and idealists who have pushed their Epoch forward.
